cruiseblue Posted May 14, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 14, 2010 Are there any shaded areas (minus the umbrella) on 7 Miles Beach or is it just a stretch of bare sands. Will we be able to find plenty of shaded areas to rest (if we don't want to rent umbrella for the day)? Thinking of stopping at Royal Palms. TurtleTagger Posted May 14, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 14, 2010 Natural shade (trees) can be found at Cemetery Beach, but there are no facilities/amenities of any kind.
bookbabe Posted May 14, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 14, 2010 Most of the Seven Mile Beach spots with facilities (restrooms, rentals, restaurant, etc.) will not have any natural shade. This includes the common sections like Royal Palms, Sea Grape and I think Tiki Beach. Public Beach has some small picnic shelters, if I remember correctly...but they fill up fast, especially on weekend or a day with lots of ships in. However, I think an umbrella for the day at Royal Palms is $7. Not a huge expense, especially with a couple of people sharing it. Or, there's umbrellas at all the tables in the bar/restaurant area...you just need to be ordering drinks semi-regularly... :D
