deucbmac Posted May 19, 2010 Author #76 Share Posted May 19, 2010 i don't agree with the name change... i think 'fun times' sounds stupid, though it's an easy pun... i prefer 'capers' personally - and i think it'll be hard to think of them as anything other than that ;) but, just from the perspective of layout, design, clarity, etc... - they do look better... :) The layout is a lot better and easier to read, but I agree with you on the name change. I still like Caper.

Want to put small erasable message boards on each outside door.....Could you tell me if magnets or painter's tape would work best..............Also, would a bungee cord work to keep the balcony door open? what size? e46343 Posted May 19, 2010 #82 Share Posted May 19, 2010 Since you are still on the Muster Drill and the Sail Away Party, Can you tell me did the ship pull away from the port during the Muster Drill? Or, did the captain wait for the Muster drill to end before pulling away from the port?
ryanpatricksmom Posted May 19, 2010 #83 Share Posted May 19, 2010 Since you are still on the Muster Drill and the Sail Away Party, Can you tell me did the ship pull away from the port during the Muster Drill? Or, did the captain wait for the Muster drill to end before pulling away from the port? For each of our sailings on the Pride, the muster drill was completed prior to sailaway (and we left late twice).
Chief Cruiser Posted May 19, 2010 #84 Share Posted May 19, 2010 I'll make sure we don't drink all the beer and DOD's before you get on brreils.:p The weather is not looking pretty for our sail away on Sunday...I'm soooo sick of this nasty weather!!!:( Hopefully the weathermen will be WRONG!!! But, you can't control the weather so no matter what, we will make the best of it!!:DThanks again for the Great review...I hope you finish it before we sail!! I'd rather get rained on while standing on the Lido deck sailing away than getting rained on while running through the parking lot to get to work!!!!!!!!!;)
Chief Cruiser Posted May 19, 2010 #85 Share Posted May 19, 2010 Alright, Now for everyone that needs to know ..... LOL ..... I bought a 12 pack of Lipton Iced Tea. I then removed 6 bottles from the packaging and then carefully removed one bottle at a time from the shrink wrap, opened them and refilled them with NEW tea!!! I then placed them back into the shrink wrap being careful not to stretch it. This will hopefully settle all the questions about my booze smuggling!! Where there's a will, there's a way. The human mind and its creativity never cease to amaze me!!!!!! :)

DavyB Posted May 19, 2010 #88 Share Posted May 19, 2010 Great review and pics so far. You have pics of the ship that I've never seen before. Although the decor is quite dark, it looks beautiful. I haven't been on a Carnival ship since 1994 and have heard nothing but great things about the Pride so I'm pretty excited about cruising on 6/27. Can't wait to see more pics and hear more about your experience.

Cruiser2B2 Posted May 19, 2010 #92 Share Posted May 19, 2010 Hey Adam!! AHHH it is like I am still there!! Great review it is like I am there again! I am really thinking of booking next April vacation and bringing the kids. It was a pretty easy drive down from Maine (minus NY) and was so well worth the money we spent. I miss the piano bar :(... 9:15 comes and damn time to go to bed so I can get up and work tomorrow!! It was nice meeting you and Sam and your sister parents...and if you are reading this Brian you and your kids!! Keep the review coming Adam you are doing an excellent job! I was jealous of your towel animals you got a sting ray and a bunny...we didn't LOL. First day back to work wasn't too bad. Glad we chose to get off the ship and drive straight through and have all day Monday home to relax before heading back. Seems wierd though to be back on land and back to the "real world"!!

Thanks.....Marty The wife used a 3M Command Strip Hook to hang our tiki sign. As far as the the balcony door, a bungee cord will work, however we found something a little better. This is the Getaways book the is in every room on the ship. It can be placed in the track of the balcony door to keep it open. Just push the door open, place the book in the track and let the door shut til the book holds it!!

Or, did the captain wait for the Muster drill to end before pulling away from the port? It was a good 1/2 hour between finishing the Muster Drill and the Sail away. You should be good on making it upside before they set sail!! Hey Adam!! AHHH it is like I am still there!! Great review it is like I am there again! cantwait06 Posted May 20, 2010 #96 Share Posted May 20, 2010 great review! I see you spent some time in the piano bar-that was my favorite place on the ship! Roger was great...so funny and an awesome entertainer! Did he sing "Lucielle" for you all? That was quite a show....
deucbmac Posted May 20, 2010 Author #97 Share Posted May 20, 2010 Ok, So Back to the Review!! So we waited around and got comfy in our chairs waiting for the ship to set sail. Our original time of departure was 5:30, however they changed it to 4:30 and sent us and e-mail. 4:30 came and No Departure! It was finally at about 5:00 when a slight vibration of the the engine began. Soon after they tossed the ropes out and the ship began to drift. The Captain then backed the ship up, turned it 120 degrees and we were off! A little pilot boat then steered us out between sets of buoys down the Chesapeake. Its OFFICIAL, We were CRUISIN!!!!!!!

Margienj Posted May 20, 2010 #99 Share Posted May 20, 2010 I am so loving this review. We are looking at going on the Pride in March 2011. We live in South Jersey so this would be an easy jaunt for us. We've sailed from Maimi, Ft. Lauderdale and Pt. Canaveral but airfare is really cutting into our trip money. We would save so much that we can now give to the casino and bar. Keep the pictures coming it's really hyping me up.
