NJfoodie Posted May 17, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 17, 2010 Our ship arrives around 8am, and we're scheduled for a tour of nassau through island marketing at 1:30. We're trying to decide what to do for the morning given that we've already got the afternoon planned. We have a 14 months old toddler with us so I'm not sure what will be feasible in walking around w/ a stroller or if we'd be better off going somewhere w/ a cab/jitney. Ideas so far - 1. walking to junkanoo beach for a bit of beach time, then head back to the ship for lunch and a quick shower before the tour. 2. if the cruiseline has any convenient tour times, a glass-bottom boat tour 3. BCH day pass? Not sure if this will really be worth it over visiting the free beach 4. taking the ferry to atlantis and just walking around the free areas or visiting the dig if i'm feeling inclined. DH would probably like to visit the casino if they have a poker room. What's feasible if we should be back at the pier by 1:15 for the tour? Thanks! GinDon Posted May 18, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 18, 2010 I would do a quick cab/or water taxi to Atlantis. It's quite the place! Walking around the free areas, looking at the aquarium part that is free, and, yes the casino, would take at least an hour. Lots of photo ops. If you don't go take a peek, you'll always wonder what it looked like. I would also duck into the straw market. I know, everyone complains.....it's hot, crowded, vendors are pushy. To me, you gotta try it once.
