Upgrading last minute

Recommended Posts

Last time I was on Liberty of the Seas, I spoke to someone who gave me some pointers. It was quite interesting. I respected his knowledge since he's a Diamond Plus and I'm just a Diamond, but anyway, he told me that after booking a regular balcony room, he waited until the week of embarkation to call RCI to find out how the status of the Jr. Suites. He told me that he was able to upgrade into that for free or for some very small fee, I couldn't remember.

Anyone have any experience with that?

That privilege is a perk of Diamond Plus members so when you get to that Plus you will also be able to take advantage of it.

So there is an official perk?

Tell me about it.

I just know what Iv read, dont know its true. The top 3 folks that are diamond plus, those 3 with the most cruise credits, can upgrade one level, like from inside to OV, OV to balcony, balcony to suite.

I havent seen it in writing, but know that a lot have done it.. not all diamond plus get to upgrade though ... only those with the most cruise credits.

Last month I sailed on LOS in a balcony cabin. A week before sailing I wanted to upgrade to Jr suite......and I was willing to pay whatever the price. I was told there were no longer any avaliable. Maybe I waited too long.
