Is it possible to do Nice, Eze, Monaco & Monte Carlo in 1 day?

We used Michel from Dream Tours (www.dream-tours.com). He picked us up at the tender station at 830 AM, took us to a perfume factory (fraggonard) and then to eze. We then walked around there for awhile, then went to see Nice. He showed us the old part of the city, the flower market, the beach. We then traveled to St. Paul de vence where we spent about 2 hours touring the area and having lunch. He then met back up with us and we traveled to Monaco to see the prince's palace and spend some time in the Casino. We also got to see a park and 2 different overlooks of nice and monaco. It was all very do-able and we were back to the ship with plenty of time to spare. I would not recommend trying to use public transportation especially since St. Paul de Vence is located much further away. Just make sure you budget extra time in for the tender and in case of any traffic. Our last tender was 630, we told the driver we needed to be back by 530, just to make sure we were on time in case of any issues. Hope this helps!

Hello everyone,

We are sailing on the Century out of Barcelona on a 12-day MED cruise starting on June 3rd. We will be porting in Villefranche at 10.30 and leaving the port at 20.00. This will be our first time to France (and we'd like to experience all we can) We'd like to get as much out of our stay (abeit limited).

We have to tender (I'm estimating that will take about 30 minutes). My plan is to take the #82 bus up to Col d’ Eze (Plateau de la Justice) and then hike to La Revere then walk the Sentier Botanique back down to Eze Village. (not sure how long this will take us).

We will most likely eat lunch in Eze. Are the restaurants open passed 13.00 (for lunch)? or Do they close down until dinner?

After lunch and a walking tour around Eze, I'd like to head to Monaco & Monte Carlo. Can we take a bus to both locations?

I'm not sure if we are trying to do too much considering we have to be back to the port in Nice (to catch the tender) by 19.00.

Is this intinerary possible to do DIY or are we better off looking for a organized tour?

Thanks in advance for your input...

We did this same itinerary through a private tour with SSK Dreamliner. You can read about my experience on my review:

It is very aggressive schedule and rushed. I would have rather spent less time in Monaco, more time in Eze, and skipped Nice personally. I think you should try to cut out one of the places so you can really have time to enjoy the ones you do go to and take it in.
