When to purchase alchohol/duty free on cruise departing from Venice

:)

Thanks to everyone who contributes the these boards we have found a lot of great information just reading all of the articles and postings!

We are currently on an Celebrity Equinox the departs from Venice in mid-August and wanted to get some feedback about some pre-shopping.

From our research we understand that Celebrity "allows" two bottles of wine per stateroom and while not allowed sometimes other alcoholic beverages are able to make their way on board.

That being said we are flying from the US to Frankfurt (with a 5 hour layover) followed by a flight from Frankfurt to Venice arriving at 1 pm with a Cruise departure time of 5 pm.

We are trying to decide if we should pick up some supplies at the duty-free in Frankfurt or at the Cruise terminal in Venice? We are assuming both will be somewhat close in prices/etc. Also, will the cruise shops sell cases of bottled water to take on-board the ship?

Thanks for any feedback.
