Shopping in Ocho Rios

We haven't been to Jamaica for about two years and were really happy with the shopping this time so thought we'd share. We spent the day at reggae beach and then had our taxi driver take us downtown. The husbands didn't really want to shop so our driver suggested dropping us all off at a store called Rasta Joe's and from there we could access Island Village and Taj Majal. My sister and I hit the stores and left our husbands at Rasta Joe's. We really enjoyed Island Village and thought the quality of souvenirs was high and it was a nice environment to shop in - no hassling from store owners! After about an hour we went back to Rasta Joe's not expecting to find our husbands and couldn't believe it when we saw them still sitting there drinking beers and talking to Rasta Joe. It's a very small store with a lot of unique souvenirs that we didn't see in Island Village. They also had a coffee and rum cake cart in the front along with $1 Red Stripe beers - the main reason our husbands hung around! It was walking distance to the ship and was a great way to end our stay in Ocho Rios.
