We are going to Nassau & Freeport, Bahamas and Key West on the Conquest next February. We have been on the Conquest before, but could use advice for the ports. I have a scooter, but can use crutches for short distances, and understand that we will dock at all three locations.

I just visited Key West via a cruise on RCL's grandeur. There are curb cuts everywhere. I had no trouble getting around in my power wheelchair.

Don't know about Key West but we did go to the Bahamas. Scooter would be great in Nassau. There are a lot of shops along the waterfront that you can visit. Even with the scooter, you would need either crutches, cane or rolling walker as the shops can be crowded. Not much at Freeport unless you get a taxi into 'town' and go to the shops or casinos. Nassau was, by far, our favorite stop.

I also found Key West ecellent to get around. Whereas I did not enjoy Nassau that much as it is always so busy and people do not seem to move for our scooters/wheelchairs, I found Freeport very good and everyone very helpful. Not many shops, but what was there was reasonably priced. Alcohol duty free cheaper than Nassau when we went. Some lovely beaches attached to hotels which we can get to. Enjoy your cruise I am sure that you will:)

Many of the shops are small and do not have room for you to drive the scooter into the shops. Also in the Bahamas , many of the places also have a step up into the store which prohibits use of the scooter insided. If you plan on shopping bring your crutches . A bungee cord will help to attached them to the back of the scooter. Should you transfer from your scooter to the crutches to go into a store/restaurant, remember to take the scooter key with you.
