Iraklion - Heraklion City or Arolithos?

I will be in Iraklion from 7-12 in October. Due to the limited time I am going to do a ship tour. In addition to Knossos the tours will go to Arolithos or Heraklion City. Any suggestions?

We did a combination of Knossos and Heraklion (on our own) which we enjoyed. In Heraklion we visited the Archaeological Museum (limited displays due to major renovations which have been going on since 2006, with no end in sight) and explored in the shopping/business district.

 

I haven't been to Arolithos, but after visiting small towns on other Greek Islands, they have more appeal to me than the port cities, so if I was choosing between the two ship's excursion that you describe, I would probably go with the Knossos/Arolithos combination.
