Time zone changes and excursion times

I am booking a couple of independent excursions and am wondering about time zone changes. We are doing a roundtrip to Alaska from Seattle on Princess.

We have been on Carribbean cruises in the past and the ship kept the same time zone throughout the cruise. Not a problem for ship sponsored excursions, but we did have confusion a couple of times on the independent excursions.

I know that in several ports, the time is 1 hour behind Seattle time. So when the ship info says that we dock at 6:30am, is that the true time in port?

Yes, it is. All Alaska ports are in the same time zone, and the ship switches to and from Alaska Time just south of Ketchikan.

On the cruise we just completed on RCI Rhapsody, leaving on Friday afternoon, we fell back one hour on Saturday night (Sunday morning) before we got to Juneau. We sprung ahead on Thursday night after going through Tracy Arm and before our last sea day before arriving at Victoria, BC.
