Does the French doors open?

The doors open, but there is a railing directly on the other side. There is no balcony and you cannot go outside. If you booked a room between the lifeboats, you'll have a bit of a view...and you'll be able to open the doors to get some fresh air.

I've heard it can be tricky to open the doors, though, b/c the beds can be in the way.

I've booked an obstructed view room, 4194, on the Legend. Does it actually have a balcony? Does the door open enough to get out?

No, you will not have a balcony and it would be very dangerous to try to do as the other poster suggested and try to step out onto the railing. A fall from this height could kill you--which would definitely ruin your cruise.;)

I had one of these rooms a couple of years ago. The doors will open, but will not stay open on their own. You could probably use the door stop from the hallway door to prop the door open if you wanted to. I didn't try to bungee mine, so I couldn't comment about that. We did find that it was difficult to open the door all the way because the bed was blocking it.

Also, you may want to be aware that crew members are frequently doing maintenance on the life boats outside your window. Be sure to have the curtains pulled at opportune moments to avoid giving them an eyeful.:p
