Sign and Sail Question

This is probably a dumb question  and I'm sure I know the answer to this but want to just make sure as my cruise is next Wednesday and I'm starting to panick that I am going to forget something, do something wrong, etc. and I have a habit of over thinking things :p

My husband and I have a $210 pp OBC. Since we have this, we don't actually need to put a credit card on file when we check in, correct? I don't see us going over this and if we do, I'll add some extra cash to put on the account.

I believe you still need to put a credit card down. Plus if you are on a 7 day cruise your tips alone will be $140. So, you will only have $70 in credit.

I'm on a 8 day cruise and I've been informed that tips will be $80 pp which leaves me with $130 pp. Should be plenty of us and as I said, I'll have some extra cash if we do need it. But I guess it looks like, as you said, I'll need to provide a credit card upfront as well.

Ok,

My mistake.. you are correct you will have $130 after tips (didn't see the PP). OBC is like cash, but not sure if you will be able to cash it out at the end (that is a good question to ask? or contact the pursers desk). They just might allow you to not use a credit card. But, I would be prepared to put one down just like staying at a hotel.

Each sign & sail card (adult) is required to put a deposit of $200. This can be in cash, traveler's checks or a credit card. Since you do not intend to spend any money other than the OBC you have been given, I would use a credit card (no reason to tie up cash). If you don't have a card, then prepare to hand over $400 in cash upon entering the ship. Whatever is left over will be refunded to you the last night in the form of a check (slipped under your door in an envelope). They will NOT however, accept a check for the $400. Cash, traveler's check or credit card only.

If you dont spend more than the OBC, the credit card wouldnt be charged. I put up a card, and alway spend a little more ..so I get charged $6.76 or $25.62 or whatever ..I spend whatever OBC they give me ..Ill buy a nice purse or whatever and poof ..I can spend it.

I know you can get cash from your bank in the casino ...but I figure if they give me the money to spend ...Im going to spend it.
