orcas are not always in the area, they roam far and wide. humpbacks are stay nearby and are sighted regularly. most cases it's going to be backs, fins and tails sighted...but you can always get lucky!

Our group went whale watching on May 26 with Princess. We had a pm tour and flipped to an am tour. Both tours had Killer whales and humpbacks. I got pictures of the fluke of the humpback and several of a juvenile killer whale breaching. I also got lots of just splashes. It was great fun and highly recommend it. We received hot chocolate or coffee and donuts for free in the am.

We did our whale watchig in the morning and our tour guides told us the whales are out all the time....the only benefit to the early morning departure was that not as many boats are out yet so we could maneuver to the whales spotted easier.
