What time?

What time do you think I should get to the Port of NY to board the ship? I've been reading wait times for people and don't want to show up and see a line around the ship waiting to board.

What is the earliest they let you on?

Thanks!

I guess it could depend on many things. Are you local, i.e. are you coming by cab, driving, bus, limo, walking? When is it that you're sailing, is it soon? Is it a week day or weekend? And, how many other ships will be in port that day as well. I believe they begin the boarding process around noon, getting there too early will certainly have you waiting around for a long time.

Many folks start arriving around 10:30 (some even earlier!) and boarding starts around 11:30. When we boarded in New York, there was no "line around the ship"...but we did have to wait for a bit inside the port building...sitting on chairs, with restrooms and soda machines nearby..until the ship was ready. Not a big deal.
