Car Rental In Ft. Lauderdale

Are any of the car rental places close to the hotels. Does anyone know of a specific agency and hotel that are close to one another. We will probably have a day in Ft. Lauderdale and thought it might be nice to rent a car for a while and travel over to Miami as well.

The majority of the car rental agencys in Ft Lauderdale are at or near the airport. Most hotels are merely 10-15 minutes away from the airport so you may have difficulty finding a car rental located in a hotel. Alamo rent a car is on Federal Highway but I would not recommend any hotels on Federal Highway. There are a couple of car rental agencys on State Road 84 and I would not stay anywhere near them either.

So, if we rented a car at the airport and then returned it, then possibly some hotels would pick us up...or, how much would a taxi to the cruise ship terminal be, maybe dh could drop us off at the pier and while we wait in line he could return the car and then take a taxi back..does that sound feasible?

Many, if not all car rental companies will transport you to the port and a cab would not be necessary..

We are renting from the Budget location in F.L. -1500 block on 17th. Close to Marriott Marina and the Ren.
