peterpan69 Posted June 18, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 18, 2010 Hi, This is my first time cruising. I know there is a risk with doing excursions yourself, but I like the flexibility of touring myself at my own pace without being stuck on a coach. Is there any advice anyone can offer please regarding getting hold of bus/train times? My itinery is: Palma Villefranche - Probably Monaco or Monte Carlo Marina Di Carrara - The Leaning Tower of Pisa Civitavecchia - Rome for The Colosseum, Vatican and Trevi Fountain Propriano - Open to suggestions Mahon - Menorca on horseback Palma Any help, web site addresses, etc would be greatly appreciated. Here is a site to get Colosseum tickets online - they are 'open' so not restricted to aparticular time of entry and you can by-pass the queues to get in. http://www.colosseum.museum-ticket.it/ProductMuseum.action?museumId=20&cityId=2&nc=Rome&nm=Colosseum&request_locale=en&gclid=CPGBq8rRqaICFQ8_lAodmBTARg Here is the link for the train timetables to Rome and Livorno www.trenitalia.com/cms/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=c79686605528a110VgnVCM1000003f16f90aRCRDs/sacmicrofront/contenido.do?mkey=M09031114115111706958&lang=CA&cont=8712 And for the buses in Majorca http://www.caib.ehttp:/ It's very easy to get the train from Villefranche - try Googling for information/times Can't help with the others but again, a Google search for local transport links should yield some info.
