bobontheblue Posted June 18, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 18, 2010 Love the idea of an adult only area on the upper decks, of the Freedom. But is it over run with kids and parents who think they are the exception to the rule? How is the area supervised for the comfort of all, without being thought of as rude. Our experience is with Fantasy class the Serenity deck rule is respected (just hot tubs no pool). Any larger class (with pool aft) and the staff on board will tell you there is no adults only area. spencercoop Posted June 18, 2010 #3 Share Posted June 18, 2010 I have heard it both ways. Some people have said there was someone there and if a child tried to come in they told them that they couldn't stay and had to leave. But I have also heard that there has been children in the serenity area and nothing was said to them.

You are correct just off the Dream a few weeks bk and there are no adult only pools Serenity deck had children there as well. This also applies to the fantasy class ships as to what my eyes observed. chickie_mite Posted June 18, 2010 #5 Share Posted June 18, 2010 We were on the Dream in May, and no, it wasn't respected as an adult only area. I think part of that problem stems from having the water slides right next to Serenity---parents turned their kids loose on the slides, and they stayed close by on Serenity. Kids came back and forth to check in with their parents.
spenc Posted June 18, 2010 #6 Share Posted June 18, 2010 We were on the Dream in May and had no problem with kids in the Serenity area. Several times I saw them being escorted out by the crew members. Problem is that entrance to the Serenity area is right by the waterslide.
Traveler353 Posted June 18, 2010 #7 Share Posted June 18, 2010 I have been on two ships with the Serenity area, it was strongly enforced on both.
golfadj Posted June 18, 2010 #8 Share Posted June 18, 2010 Very few kids on either the glory or the freedom. It was what it was supposed to be quiet.
ChefSusan Posted June 18, 2010 #9 Share Posted June 18, 2010 In the past, we have been on Freedom, Glory, and Legend, and the no children rule for both the Serenity area, as well as the Adults Only Pool area, were strictly enforced.

chickie_mite Posted June 18, 2010 #13 Share Posted June 18, 2010 LOL, I swear I must have taken the Twilight Zone Dream cruise in May--no matter what experiences we had, someone here had the opposite! :D
proudpatriot07 Posted June 18, 2010 #14 Share Posted June 18, 2010 Was on the Fantasy a few weeks ago, and it was enforced. I didn't see any kids trying to come into the area, but there were staff by both the stairwells leading to it if anyone tried to. Was there most days and never saw a kid. aubreysmom Posted June 19, 2010 #15 Share Posted June 19, 2010 LOL, I swear I must have taken the Twilight Zone Dream cruise in May--no matter what experiences we had, someone here had the opposite! :D LOL! It is a big ship! We were on her the last weekend in May/1st week in June. The Serenity area was always so crowded that we didn't get to hang out there. However, we would always go buy a bucket of beer at the bar there before heading to our cabin to shower and get ready for dinner. One time I saw a group of kids walk into the area and our bar lady escorted them out! :D
samiam519 Posted June 19, 2010 #16 Share Posted June 19, 2010 Just don't cruise during Spring Break 'cause they call those college kids adults, but guess what? They're not! Drunk and loud and foul mouths. Other than our mistake crusing during Spring Break week we have always had a very "serene" experience in the Serenity area. kris12 Posted June 19, 2010 #18 Share Posted June 19, 2010 I was on the Dream in May and only saw one kid in the Serenity are who was promptly escorted out of the area. The only other ship I've been on with Serenity area was the Inspiration and there were quite a few adult college kids who felt so strongly about being in the loungers closest to the aft rail that they actually slept there, pillows blankets and all. Underage kiddies were escorted out of the area.
familycruzinnewbie Posted June 19, 2010 #19 Share Posted June 19, 2010 See if we could just remove our tops, I think parents would be less inclined to bring their kid in.
