A Day in PDC?

I'll be in Cozumel in April, and have never gone over to PDC. I'm interested in snorkeling and shopping.

Would it be worth going to the mainland or just staying on the island?

Any advice appreciated. Particularly on shopping, snorkeling and places to eat.

There's plenty to do in either place. Keep in mind you're going to spend 2 to 2-1/2 hours or so (about 45 mins. each ferry segment, plus taxi and wait time) making the round trip between destinations. Though I enjoy the PdC environs, it would require a pretty long port day in Cozumel for me to justify spending that much of it between places.
