Excitement from Price Drops

I can't be the only one who gets super excited about price drops, can I? Today I checked and our upcoming cruise dropped $30/person for the balcony cabins and $45/person for the inside cabins. We've got five cabins booked so the savings really add up.

I'm keeping a running total of savings in terms of drinks onboard. "That's 5 more drinks for me!" My kids have been rolling their eyes at me as I'm dancing around the room LOL.

You go to the Carnival site or a TA site that allows you to see which cabins they are, and pretend to book the exact same category as you booked. Only early saver rates can get price drops after final payment, so most of these people are ES rate folks. I only got one $20 pp price drop out of a bunch of bookings ...so not everyone gets a price reduction. You need to know what rate type you booked, the base amount and what category so you can price match to the exact category.

Our October cruise on the Conquest has dropped 4 times!!!! Super excited, we are down $70pp & have upgraded from 8A to 8E. This is the first time we have gotten a price drop.

For me, it is extra casino money :D

Happy Cruising!!

we finally booked today 15 min ago-lol! Going to MR in Jan.

I've been on the look out for price drops but my cruise only keeps going up. When i get a price drop I WILL post with excitement. Last cruise there was a $5 drop for 1st and 2nd and i was happy, someone commented whats the big deal. It adds up and $10 is $10 a drink-lol! I think we ended up with a total of $110-$120 total whoohoo!

I check carnivals wesite a couple of times a week and also have the carnival cruise Genie set to email me when there is a price drop. So far we have gotten $130 a person in o.b.c. for our august trip.

I check Carnival site several times a day, but cruise genie has yet to alert me when there is a price drop, so I am glad I am obsessed about looking , because there have been 2 price drops that I found on my own and genie NEVER came thru:o

I still check on my own but both of my price drops were found when the Genie emailed me. Do you have all the right info entered?

We have a suite, a balcony and an inside booked on the Pride in July. We are currently at $1140 in OBC. We're going to have to give our kids spending privileges to get this money down... :D

We've booked the Chef's table, the Steakhouse and have covered all tips for our family of 5. We still have a ton to spend (not big drinkers).

I've looked on the Carnival site, but can't find where to set up the Genie:confused:. I've even tried searching Genie, but it comes up with no results. Can you please give me some clue how to find and activate Genie on Carnival's website? Thank you.

Out of all my cruises(11th coming up) i have never had a price drop till this cruise. I actually booked RCCL Explorer in March for October 28th and within 3 weeks had 2 drops. Booked a suite at origianlly 1999 and paid 1239 within those 3 weeks.

I was super excited since it was my first ever price drop. I am so happy with that price.

no its carnival cruise genie dot com

Thank you ManyMore. I found the site, and am now registered. We booked the next cruise very early (ES), with a price about $125 lower than the current price, so I'm not holding out much hope of a price drop, but it would be nice to get OBC for a few DOD's. Thanks again for your help.

My cruise went down $20pp now it is up $30pp from original price. Don't think it will go down that much in 30 days. But I keep checking everyday sometimes twice a day:D. I want to do the price drop dance too!:)

You should look into the Behind the Fun tour if it's offered. That's how we're spending a lot of our OBC.
