cruisecrazybmore Posted June 20, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2010 My dad and I sailed on the Grandeur ~2 years ago and will be sailing on Enchantment in October. Are the two ships comparable?
starlake Posted June 20, 2010 #2 Share Posted June 20, 2010 Yes, in many ways. The Enchantment is a stretched out version of the Grandeur. More pool area with overhead arched walkways. Two pool bars instead of one. There is a Baleros that you will not find on the Grandeur. Some extra rooms. It really will remind you of the Grandeur. If you enjoyed the Grandeur, you will enjoy the Enchantment
spencercoop Posted June 20, 2010 #3 Share Posted June 20, 2010 The ship also just got out of drydock not too long ago, so that is a positive!
SamFritz Posted June 20, 2010 #4 Share Posted June 20, 2010 I've been on both recently. Encahntment offers a few extras thanks to the stretch. It's lovely, and if I'm not mistaken the CD you had on Grandure (John Blair) will soon be moving to the Enchantment, so you may have him again. I thought he was great on the Granduer. The only drawback I found on Enchantment was that while they also added staterooms, they didn't add to the seating in the theater. It was the one space where felt crowded and we often had trouble getting four seats together.
cruisecrazybmore Posted June 20, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted June 20, 2010 Thanks for the reassurance. I didn't know it had recently been in dry dock. I LOVED the CD on Granduer!! It would be awesome to have him again.

Sunkissed Mommy Posted June 20, 2010 #7 Share Posted June 20, 2010 I've been on both. I'd say Enchantment is a step up from Grandeur, but VERY similar. Both are great ships :)
Philly Steve Posted June 21, 2010 #8 Share Posted June 21, 2010 It's funny how they are now considered "small" ships. :)
Benita Posted June 21, 2010 #9 Share Posted June 21, 2010 The Enchantment has a concierge lounge, the Grandeur does not.
sml3 Posted June 21, 2010 #10 Share Posted June 21, 2010 I've also been on both and agree, they are very similar. I loved the pool area of the Enchantment and the Enchantment has a specialty restaurant-Chops while the Grandeur does not have any.
catty Posted June 21, 2010 #11 Share Posted June 21, 2010 Our 30th anniversary is coming up and we can't decide on Enchantment of the Seas outside cabin (9 days out of Baltimore) or Solstice out of Fort Lauderdale balcony 7 days. With airface (both same price)
