dinner the first night

Recommended Posts

Since many people don't receive their luggage until later in the evening, dress for dinner the first night is very casual. It's perfectly acceptable to where whatever you wore onto the ship to the MDR that night. Not sure about the protocol is for the specialty restaurants as we've never gone the first night, but I would imagine that they are also much more relaxed about how their patrons dress. We usually will back our bathing suits and possibly a change of clothes for dinner in our carry-ons, just in case, though. We also typically will pack a change of undies, too, just in case something goes wrong and we don't receive our luggage at all the first night!

Casual attire is fine, but shorts are not permitted in the MDR at dinner.

If you luggage does not arrive at your cabin in time to change for dinner they will allow you in with shorts.

Unless the Oasis is different than every other RCI ship I have been on people in shorts are not turned away from the MDR.
