Day 5

For my entree I had Turkey with pasta (not so great):

and for dessert Tiramisu: (sorry for the fact that it is half eaten, but I got excited :p )

DSCN0412.jpg

I know it sounds lame, but we were tired and had to wake up at 6 am the next morning for Tortola so we went to bed.

Final thoughts about Antigua: I would love to visit again, but I don't think I would go to Dickinson Bay. It was nice and all, but the vendors were pushy and we were limited to one small area to swim. The island itself is beautiful, and I would love to sightsee and take some pictures!!

Day 6- Tortola

The Freedom was only scheduled to be in Tortola from 7 am until 3:30 pm, which made me sad. Out of all of the stops on this trip, Tortola was my favorite. The island was beautiful, and I had a lot of fun riding around in the taxi.

We met the tour group on the pier for 8 am to go to the Lambert Beach Escape. The taxi was similar to those in St. Thomas, and our driver's name was Dean. The island is very steep, and I wasn't so sure the taxi would make it!

Along the way Dean made a stop at the local college, which was very random. So i took a picture of the flowers... haha.

Some more shots:

When we arrived at the resort, we were escorted to the bar/beach area. I made a pit stop at the restroom, and took a few pictures of the bar area.

DSCN0423.jpg

The staff told us that lunch would be ready for 11:30, and then we would head back to the ship. We walked out to the beach area, and found that there were no more beach chairs free. So, we asked the guys to bring us some which took forever so we just laid out our beach towels in the meantime.

Day 6 still

The tour guides told us to stay in the center of the water, because there were a lots of rocks on the sides.

DSCN0462.jpg

After some time in the water, it was time for lunch so we gathered our belongings and went back up to the bar area. Our group was not interested in eating lunch, so we just sat around and waited to leave.

Around 12:20 we were sitting in the taxi heading back to the boat. When we got back to the ship, we took a shower and got something quick to eat for lunch.

After lunch, we went and did some laundry (my least favorite part). There were 3 washing machines and 6 dryers, so we always made sure to go when no one else was there.

Before I forget here is the elevator area:

Day 6

After laundry, we started to get ready for dinner. Tonight I started with the shrimp cocktail... big surprise!

Entree: Veal Parmesan

DSCN0481.jpg

Dessert: Raspberry, chocolate, and vanilla cake.

DSCN0482.jpg

After dinner, we went down to the Victoriana Lounge and played some half price bingo. (I lost AGAIN!) It was the night of the Guest Talent show which I was really excited for!

The opener was a guy who sang Bob Marley's song "No Woman, No Cry" while playing the Ukulele. He did a great job, and was a very talented individual. The next guy sang Elvis Presely's song "Can't help falling in love," he did a great job as well!

The last act was a woman who sang "At Last" originally done by Aretha Franklin, and she did AMAZING.

After the guests preformed it was time for the comedian Lewis Nixon to hit the stage. He mainly said jokes about cruising, and travels in general but he was hilarious! After the show, it was time for the deck party. As soon as people started going up to the lido deck, it started raining so we went to bed.

A view of sailing away from Tortola:

DSCN0498.jpg

We arrived to the room to find no towel animal for tonight :( .

Your descriptions and photos are great - I must say though - looks like a lot of clouds and rain...???? Did you get any sun at all on this trip?!

Ugh, yeah the rain followed us! We got some sun at Tortola, and Nassau! But, the first few days were gross!

Day 7- Fun Day at Sea!

We woke up late on this day, and went up to the lido deck to catch the end of breakfast. We weren't really interested in anything going on around the ship, so we headed back to the room and watched Avatar.

After the movie, it was getting late and we didn't pay for a cruise to sit in the room so we went down to the Victoriana Lounge.

There was a Hip Hop dance class going on which was really interesting to watch. They split the group into the team colors and had a little competition for points.

After the class, it was time for 7 game bingo. Each game you could win $100 dollars, with the last game winner taking $250! So, I lined up and bought my mom and myself a card. We were sitting towards the back of the Lounge, so I tried to get my mom to move up closer to the stage. She refused as it was her "lucky spot" .

Bingo got underway, and 6 games later we were still losers. As the last game ended I got excited that I would win the $250 as I was 2 numbers away when the guy who won the previous 100 bucks called out bingo! Lucky guy!!! He won $350 dollars!!!

After donating $40 to the Bingo winners, we went up to the Promenade deck to purchase our Future Cruise Certificate. The woman said she would send it our way on the last night of the cruise so we went off to the casino to play sports trivia.

Now, I don't know to too much about sports but I know a good bit. When you get into specifics about the length of a bowling lane, or the height of the baseball diamond... I am at a loss for the answer. I ended up with 4 out of the 20!!!! right. That is sad. :(

After trivia, we went off to the room to get ready for dinner at the Steakhouse for 6 pm. When we were finished getting ready, my dad never showed back to the room until 6:20 pm. He had mistaken the time and thought the reservations were for 7:30, so we went up to the Lido deck to eat dinner that night.

DSCN0501.jpg

We went down to the Victoriana Lounge, and sat down for the 'Ticket to Ride' show. After about 30 or so minutes, the show got weird so we left to go to karaoke.

When karaoke was over, it was time for the adult comedy show with Lewis. The show was very funny, and it was extremely packed!

The lounge while karaoke was still going on:

DSCN0503.jpg

After the show, we went to the internet cafe and then off to bed.

Thanks for your review. We are thinking about a future cruise on Freedom.

Funny that you had OS 7271. We have tried like heck to get that cabin number on a few cruises because it's our birthdates... Maybe we will be in "your" cabin when we cruise on Freedom. :)

Oh! Before you try to ever book it on the Freedom, let me just tell you it was so noisy from all of the atrium singing! It would go on until 2 am and keep us up all night! Just warning!!!!! :D Have a great time on any future cruises!

Boo hoo!:( Thanks for the warning! Is this noise from underneath or from a doorway leading to the main halls?

We have 7272 on Liberty in September...I am wondering if we'll have those noise issues.

Again, thanks for all the info and pictures AND answering our questions.

In 06 out of NYC, we hit many of the same ports, San Juan, St. Thomas and Tortola. Had rain in SJ and Tortola, but it was nice that it cooled the heat down...then the HUMIDITY! (Being from Denver, 50% is on the high side.)

The clouds and rain is on reason we chose this cruise with the yet to be explored ports.

Antigua and Nassau are two not visited. Keep up the informative review!

If you turned right from the elevators, you would run into our room. So it was RIGHT there from the atrium. The music from the atrium traveled up and into our room. Have a great cruise!!!

Day 8- Nassau

It's the last day of the cruise at this point. :( We woke up and went down to the Posh dining room to eat breakfast. There were some interesting people at the table we ate at, so we stayed a while and chatted.

After breakfast, we went to the room to get ready for Nassau. I watched New Moon on the TV until it was time we arrived in Nassau.

Some pictures of our arrival:

Day 8

The Imagination, a NCL AND RCCL boat were docked when we arrived.

DSCN0528.jpg

There was a Nassau navy ship docking as well:

DSCN0561.jpg

Atlantis, where we were going later in the day:

DSCN0542.jpg

We were cleared by customs around 12:30 pm, so we got off the boat to go to the terminal and mail some post cards. We have visited Nassau before when the Disney Cruise Line ships went there, so to see the upgrades were really nice!

The pier was soooo long, and by the time we got into the terminal we were sweating. Each post card sent cost 50 cents to mail off, so if you have post cards mail them in Tortola!

After we walked back, we sat at the Atlantis excursion tent for a while waiting on the group to gather. Around 1:35 pm, they walked everyone down the pier to the buses. We arrived at Atlantis and were split off into groups with tour guides.

Our main reason for going to Atlantis was to take pictures, so the tour wasn't really my thing. They led us into the shopping area where we came across the gate to Atlantis.

Day 8

They also had the Temple of Sun, which was the casino:

DSCN0615.jpg

The Moon:

DSCN0616.jpg

Then they led us outside to go towards the Dig. They had a small stingray pool:

DSCN0591.jpg

There were some great views of the resort too:

Day 8

There were so many pictures opportunities in Atlantis, that I could have stayed around all day long. The tour guide was going so fast that I wanted to ditch the tour, but I stayed around...

Here are some more pictures:

DSCN0618.jpg

DSCN0622.jpg

The guide then led us outside to go to the Dig. I didn't really hear anything the guy said, all I know is that it is recreated to be an archeological site/remains of Atlantis. There are lots of fish, sharks, jelly fish, and there is even a touch pool where you can feel starfish, and other creatures.

Day 8

DSCN0631.jpg

This is the touch pool:

DSCN0644.jpg

Now the eels where my favorite! I was taking pictures when my camera flash accidentally went off, and one of the eels went crazy! I felt bad because I scared the poor thing, but the eels were pretty neat.

DSCN0652.jpg

We finished the tour, and went off to the Atlas Bar and Grill inside the casino for lunch. The food was very good, but kind of expensive. For lunch I had the BBQ Burger with fries, and a Coke. I would definitely eat there again, and I hope to visit again soon!!

One last picture of Atlantis:

We were on the Freedom with you also. We were Empress Deck 7340. A balcony room. Our girls were across the hall. We had a great trip. The weather was far from perfect but we managed to do everything except explore more of San Juan. We only made it to Senor Frogs. The Freedom had a great staff, the food for the most part was very good. I was right with you on the Ticket to ride show. My girls did love the glow sticks they handed out. Highlight of the show. Husband loved the Fish and Chips, me not so much. Ate frozen yogurt every night. The towel hogs were out but that's par I guess. Mini golf was kind of fun, but the kids running down the halls was a bummer. One of them was dropping the F bomb all the way down the hallway (at 2 a.m ). I don't get that a bit. Very inconsiderate. Will probably do this cruise again. Loved all the islands. The Eastern Caribbean is very beautiful.

Day 4- St. Thomas

Pictures of Magen's Bay:

DSCN0354.jpg

DSCN0357.jpg

We approached Caesar (our driver), and asked if he could take us back to the ship or if he knew of anyone that was able too. He pretended to try for a few minutes, and then said he was taking another group but that it was full. So, we were just going to suck it up and continue our day until Caesar said he would make room for us.

We made it back to the ship, and went up to the room and took a shower.

We watched the sail away, and got ready for dinner.

For dinner tonight I had:

2 shrimp cocktails (don't judge me! they are addicting)

-no picture, because they are seen earlier in the report! No since in being repetitive!

For my entree the Jerked pork loin-- which I did not care for:

DSCN0374.jpg

and the Strawberry Cheesecake:

DSCN0375.jpg

After dinner, they had a showgirl outside of the lounge that you could take pictures with so we did.

We were exhausted from the day, so we went up to the room to sleep!

Up next Day 5: Antigua!!

Very sorry to hear about Megan's Bay. I use to love going there. I remember it being soo beautiful.

Did you happen to see the bane "Music Boardwalk"> They also do the "Ticket to Ride" show. They are the best band at sea.

Your pictures are beautiful and enjoying your review.
