Hello gang, i'll be sailing the Epic in October and traveling with a 7 year old. I was wondering if i'll be required to pay full price for the service charge for my 7 year old in all the restaurants that have the extra service fee. I believe the steakhouse on the Epic has a $25 service charge per person so i guess my son will be eating steak if i have to pay full price for him =) Thanks all

was wondering the same thing. My son will be just over 2 so I am not sure if we will have to pay for him. However, I won't mind paying if he actually eats the good food and not just mac and cheese or something. I want him to try different foods. Also, was wondering if I would have to pay for him to see cirque dreams. I think he would love it although I heard its not for kids, but we shall see!

The children's menu is available in every restaurant on the ship, without additional charge. Since it has such restricted seating, Teppanyaki may be different - I've never gotten a definitive answer on that. Our daughter eats from the main menu, so we've always paid for her, though at one specialty they charged her only half price. From what I've read, that is common, but we've never asked for the discount because she's always eaten as much as an adult, so we felt it was fair to pay the same fee.

I sure hope so.

I made reservations a few days ago and it seemed they were asking for full price, but since charges don't actually occur until onboard I guess we'll see.

I was told 1/2 price for kids 3-11 also. This works out fine for me, having two 4 yr olds. I think the restaurant charge is added at the end of dinner (you will have to sign for it) I wasn't aware of the 1/2 price for the cirque dinner, this is great!
