What is going on in Copenhagen on Sept 6, 2005?

We are trying to book a one night stay overnight as a stopover enroute to the mediterrean cruise in Venice. Why are all the big (good) hotels booked up for that night? Are there a lot of cruises leaving that day? Maybe the cruise lines have the hotels booked? Our first choice was Hilton Copenhagen, second Radisson Royal, third Marriott. None of them have any not even one room available. So we are booked a small unknown Hotel Tiffany recomended by the trip advisor. Has anyone stayed there?

What date are you looking at?

I will arrive on 31 August to board the Star Princess on 2 September. :D

Kathy booked us at the Ibis; however, it is Rack Rate; therefore, I am still searching for Deals. (No deposit on Ibis) ;)

I'ts hard to believe that all the hotels in CPH are blocked by T.A.s and Tour Operators. Did you try Priceline?

I have never used Priceline but have been shopping on Bidding for Travel. Have you looked at that website?

Jordan (on one of these threads) will be staying, in June, at the Cab-In, which sounds interesting and reasonable as well as well-located.

I am fond of a central location. :) DKK 525 ($95 USD for single)

Jordan is to report back to me upon his return (24 June).

I have also been corresponding with B&B operators. Have you considered B&B??

That is a great option price wise it is like 102$USD for her "suite". That IS an economical choice. We shall see what transpires. I would really love to stay at that Hilton out by the airport but it has been listed as booked for sept 6 and 7, 3005 since last Sept when I first tried. I am wondering what is up?

Have you tried contacting a T.A. about the Hilton?

I would try that next. ;)

Then there is this one:

Morten Frederiksen is the owner: morten@chickens.dk

Very central location. :D

I guess you are talking about Christies. She has not replied to my e-mail but I just sent it today. I'll let you know what she has to say.

Denmark has a lot going on this summer celebrating Hans Christian Andersen's 200th birthday, and there's supposed to be a huge parade in Copenhagen on September 6th, marking his arrivial in Copenhagen on that day in 1819, so maybe a lot of people are planning to be in town for that making hotel space harder to come by.

We will be arriving in Copenhagen on the 16th of September for the Sept. 18th cruise on the Westerdam. We also had a hard time finding resevations for 2 nights. We are at the Hotel Absolan. It is a 3* hotel, with mixed reviews.
