is there shopping or beach within walking distance of port?

We will be on the Carnival Victory. I think I read somewhere that there is a beach within walking distance. If so, what is the name and how far of a walk is it? Is it a nice beach? anyone have pictures?

ther was a terminal to shop in, and a cab ride downtown. I shall be there with the Mayflower Soc. in dec..with the former CO, US Navy, and friends. Shopping was good there once upon a time

The port terminal has many good quality shops, and some push carts with souvenir items as well. Forgot to add that there is also a craft village not too far of a walk from the cruise terminal. Pelican Village has some unique items if that is the sort of shopping you are looking for. http://www.barbados.org/pelican_village.htm

Carlisle Bay is about a 20 minute walk from the port.
