Travel insurance

Where do you purchase travel insurance? Is RCCL's as good as going to another vendor? thanks. :)

I think 3rd party insurance companies are probably better, provide more coverage and are usually cheaper than the cruise line. You can use sites such as insuremytrip and squaremouth to compare multiple policies from various insurance providers.

If you booked with a TA, ask if they have insurance that they sell. I always get the best deal that way.

Cruise line insurance generally only offers $10,000 in emergency medical, which is not nearly enough. Though most do have a 'cancel for any reason and get a credit' type of policy, you need more medical coverage than what they provide. Insuring yourself for extra medical is relatively cheap. It's the cancellation insurance that is the pricey part of travel insurance.
