Tampa hotels and port shuttles

I am wanting to book a hotel for the night before our cruise. Which area of Tampa do I want to select to be close to the port? Downtown?

Also, how do I know which hotels offer a shuttle to the port?

Thanks!~

The "Ybor City" or Downtown areas are closest to the port. I think you'll find, however, that most folks would prefer the area around the airport, if they're flying in. That area would be the "WestShore" area. The only way to know if they offer shuttle, is to ask 'em!

stayed at the marriott last sunday. nice hotel i think we paid like 130 bucks a night and they have a free shuttle to the port. There is also a trolley that runs for a 25cents a person one way that you could take or just use to get to ybor city at night. any questions just ask.
