zangjuf Posted July 7, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 7, 2010 Hello, We are a family of 4; daugter 15, son 10 from the netherlands. This will be our 4th cruise, but first one with NCL. Does anyone know the comfort of the beds in the balkonycabin (BB), we're on deck 9. (due to an accident i've got permanent backdamage) that's also the reason that we want to do some private excursions in Rome and Napels for shore but find it rather expensive is there another couple or family with teenagers willing to share excursions.? Does anyone did Pompei, sorento and capri on there own with a cabdriver? is it possible in the time of the day? On other cruises we had only good experiences with cabdrivers but this is a lot for one day or isn't? Is it ok to bring or own water and soda's in the cabin? can we use the minibar to store? Hope anyone can help or give some advice, thanks!
Sauer-kraut Posted July 7, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 7, 2010 I can't speak to the comfort of the beds, I have heard if you need something they will put a foam 'egg crate' topper on the bed to soften it. You can join the Roll Call for your sailing date, scroll down to Roll Call on the main page and look for your ship and the right date, you can ask there about sharing private excursions or get ideas about who might be reccommended. You might also want to post your question about Pompeii on the Ports of Call/Europe board as many will have the information you need. You are allowed to bring on water and soft drinks, just check them in with your luggage or carry them on. The water on the ship is just fine to drink, so it isn't really neccessary to bring your own. Many people will bring an empty water bottle of their own and just keep refilling it. you are allowed to bring on wine as well, you just have to delcare it when checking in and pay a $15 corkage fee per bottle. Have a wonderful cruise! :)
