Horse Race

Hi!!

Can anyone tell me how the Horse Race on Carnival works?

Two dice in a wire container. Like the ones at the casino. One die for the number of the horse moving. The other for the number of spaces moved.

Since the horses move only one/two spaces at a given time, I suspect all "even" numbers are two...all "odd" one. Or something to that effect.

On one of the first days, you can "bid on" a horse [and decorate it]. As the owner, you take some of the money bet in the race should your horse win.

Our group bought a horse on the Elation last year and it was one of the highlights of our cruise!! I would suggest that you get one of the first ones auctioned because as the auction proceeds, the prices get higher!! We took our horse, bluebell, with us everywhere and by the end of the cruise everyone knew who she was including the social staff!! We had to write a story about her life and read it onthe last day. Bluebell was rescued from a pasture in a little town called Brenham, Texas, thus her name. Our story won but she didn't win the race. I believe Guido the Pimpin Pony won the race. He wore a black jacket all week and had a cigar in his mouth and sunglasses. BLuebell had different outfits for different occasions, ie pool attire, formal attire etc. It was great fun! I highly recommend getting a horse if you want to get involved!! ANy questions, please ask!

There is an auction ,I think on the first night, in the show lounge. People bid for them. On the Elation there were 6 horses. We paid about 60.00 for Bluebell but as the auction went on, the bids went higher. I would try to get one of the first horses, otherwise you will end up paying more. Look in you capers for the horse auction when you get on the ship. It really is a lot of fun, especially if you have a group. We had a blast dressing her and "promoting" her throughout the week.
