chocolatemaniac2 Posted February 7, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 7, 2005 Last cruise we did an excursion in the AM and by the time we got back to the pier, we only had time to shop at the "mall" by the pier cause we were there on a Sunday. This year we are doing an afternoon excursion and want to shop in town. What is the best day to get there? Taxi? Any idea how much this costs? Walking distance to town? What time to the shops open? We will be there on a Sunday again. Thanks for our help!
CaribbeanBlue Posted February 7, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 7, 2005 You can take a taxi from the cruiseship dock to the downtown area for $3.00 per person. The stores open around 0900-1000AM and are open until 1 PM on Sundays. Some people enjoy the walk from the docks downtown...about 30 minutes, however the shopping area downtown is very large and you'll be doing a LOT of walking there. Might as well arrive fresh. Sundays are a great day to do the excursions, less crowded and not as rushed. CaribbeanBlue http://www.*****.org
chocolatemaniac2 Posted February 7, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted February 7, 2005 Thanks for the quick response! I've read some of your other posts and have really found them interesting, especially the posts regarding jewelry purchasing. I look forward to visiting St Thomas again this March!
