Are DVD players available?

We are taking our 1st cruise in a couple weeks and are doing it as a family. I was wondering if there are DVD players in the staterooms if we need some down time for the little room or we want to do a family movie night.

It depends on which cruise ship you will be using.

Generally DVD players are only available at the full suite level on the mainstream lines.

 

That being said, portable DVD players are fairly reasonably priced and, if you happen to be on a cruise line with flat screen TV's, they often have ports for the DVD player and you can then watch the movies on the TV instead of the smaller screen.

I would love the option of a DVD player in my room (no such luck on the Serenade). DH and I fall asleep to The Simpsons on DVD every night. That will probably be one of the few things I will miss on my B2B cruise (and my pets).

I'll bring along our portable or maybe the laptop, those should work just fine.
