Dreamz2cruise Posted July 14, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 14, 2010 Hi! I've sailed on RC but not on Carnival yet (sailing next year on Legend!)... My question is - for the casino, do you bring paper money and get tokens to play the slots, or do you need to bring coins? I'm confused on the classes of ships - what size would the Legend be in comparrison with RC's Navigator? Is it more comparable to Freedom in size? Thanks much! Looking forward to being a past Carnival cruiser! :D
flounder315 Posted July 14, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 14, 2010 You do not need to bring coins. You do not get tokens. You play with cash or your sail & sign account.
truchattycathy Posted July 14, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 14, 2010 My question is - for the casino, do you bring paper money and get tokens to play the slots, or do you need to bring coins? Niether, when you board you are given a sail and sign card (looks like a credit card) You use it to purchase anything on the ship and to play in the casino. For slots you insert the card into the machine and set up an account and a password, and you can play directly from the card. Anything you purchase or charge in the casino goes onto that card which is in turn charged to the credit card you supplied Carnival. Welcome to Carnival. Hope you enjoy your cruise. You can use cash money for all the slots on Carnival if you so choose........but the machines don't cash out in coins....you need to cash it out onto your card. But when you set up your casino account with your S&S card it will be a separate account then you S&S account....that is why you need to cash out your balance at the end of the cruise.... firefly333 Posted July 14, 2010 #5 Share Posted July 14, 2010 cruisedeckplans site has the sizes of the ships in tons so you can compare the sizes of the two ships easily. (it will also show s.f. of the cabins and other info)
clearwatergirl Posted July 14, 2010 #6 Share Posted July 14, 2010 Welcome to CC! The Legend is in the Spirit class. Passenger capacity is around 2100. It's smaller than the Freedom. You can search the board with using the key word Legend and read folks reviews about the ship and ports of call. Wonderful ship with the "Legend" theme throughout. I've had 2 wonderful cruises and looking forward to 3 in the Fall. :)

Looking forward to being a past Carnival cruiser! :D You can either use cash paper money or set up an account using your sail and sign card in which you may get cash advance via your credit card.........no coins like Royal Caribbean..... There are step by step directions on the machines how to set up you account using a pin number......or the casino host will help you... If you have a balance on your casino account you can move from machine to machine by downloading and uploading your money..... Although you will be using the same card it will be a separate account so if you have a balance on your casino account you need to cash it out at the casino cage before you leave....... As far as the size of the ships I'm sure you can find info here: http://www.carnival.com/FunShips.aspx
frankhouse Posted July 14, 2010 #8 Share Posted July 14, 2010 The Legend is really close in size to the Enchantment of the seas which are both smaller than the Navigator or the Freedom. But the Legend is laid out nicely so I think you will really like it. It's my favorite ship to date. :)
Dreamz2cruise Posted July 15, 2010 Author #9 Share Posted July 15, 2010 Thanks for the casino info and for the welcome to CC :)! I'm really excited about sailing on Carnival. My DH turns 60 in 2 years and I wanted to do a family cruise but know that RCL might be too much $ for the kids with grandkids, etc. This is a great chance for me to "come to the other side" and see what CC has to offer! Sounds like so many of you love this line - so I appreciate all your feedback as I plan... Have a great day all!
marty30907 Posted July 15, 2010 #10 Share Posted July 15, 2010 You will enjoy your experience with Carnival. As you can see, that is all we have sailed. Someday will want to sail Princess and HAL.
