tobeyjc Posted July 14, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 14, 2010 Just make me wonder what do you mean by Tendered. We have that for Grand Cayman.
Fergus Posted July 14, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 14, 2010 At a tender port, your ship anchors in the harbor and they use the lifeboats (or other boats a little larger than lifeboats) to ferry people over to the dock. Just takes a little more time than pulling right up to the pier and docking. At some locations, like Belize, the ship has to anchor quite a way from the dock because of reefs, but most are very close.
Friscorays Posted July 14, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 14, 2010 Some pics of the type of tender used in Grand Cayman (local boats) here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1222974
Rare Keith1010 Posted July 16, 2010 #4 Share Posted July 16, 2010 The dock at Grand Cayman will not accomodate large cruise ships so all of the cruise ships offer a tender service here. The distance from between where your ship docks and the tender port in Cayman is not to far so it won't take too long to tender back and forth.
