arc918 Posted July 14, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 14, 2010 I'm a frequent visitor to Vegas and enjoy craps and blackjack (and a few other games from time to time). My first cruise is coming up in a few weeks (Freedom of the Seas). I would seem that as long as they offer at least double odds, then a craps table is a craps table whether it is in Vegas, on a riverboat or in on a cruise. One of the things I always liked about craps is that the poor choices of others at the table have no impact on my bets. In blackjack you can be stuck at a table of rookies who split their kings and are afraid to hit, etc.
cb at sea Posted July 14, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 14, 2010 Don't count on odds like you'd get in Vegas...there, I've seen mainly 5X's and even 10X's odds....You'll be lucky on the ship to get 2X!!!!!

Even with single odds it still is the best game in the House for the player. Pass Line and Come Bets still pay even money and when you make an odds bet it pays at true odds. The only bets in the House that pays at true odds along with the Don't Pass and Don't Come bets along with their associated odds bets. Dicenator Posted July 15, 2010 #5 Share Posted July 15, 2010 I've recently been on Carnival and Princess. They will only allow you to make a 2X odds bet. You should also know that they don't have any hopping bets on the layout. Dicenator

I steer totally clear of all the stuff in the middle of the board. When I'm winning I do like to hook up the dealers with a "yo for the boys!" Fun to yell it out too. Ask and the dealers will tell you if they are allowed.

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO arc918: Smart man, take the bets with the best chances of coming up. The Hard Way bet I use for giving a tip either for the dealers and/or another player having a hot roll. Sometimes I do a, "yo, for the boys." Other times I put an extra five on the line, "boys are on the line." After a point is made put an odds bet for the dealers, "the boys have legs." When on the Triumph, last year, I was the only player looking out for the boys by making bets for them. One night I won over $100 for them by betting in this manner. However, if the dealers become abusive then I don't make bets for the dealers. Edited July 19, 2010 by Casino Player
MrCo9 Posted July 19, 2010 #10 Share Posted July 19, 2010 After a point is made put an odds bet for the dealers, "the boys have legs." Legs? Seriously? Must be a regional thing. In Las Vegas we call them "shoes".

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO MrCo9: May be a regional thing, but, that was shouted out by a dealer on a cruise line on a cruise I took. Since we are on Cruise Critic let's stick with the topic, casinos on ships not in, Las Vegas. Edited July 20, 2010 by Casino Player
