tdggal1980 Posted July 19, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 19, 2010 Hey All! I have a quick question & was hoping some of my fellow CCers would know the answer (if one is available at this time). I know the Carnival Magic is moving to Galveston next year. Once that happens, is there another ship that will take over the European sailings? Maybe they haven't made the decision yet but I was just wondering. I'm really hoping this doesn't mean no more European itineraries! That's what we are planning to do for our next cruise. Thanks for any insight! As always, it is appreciated :)
*Mach* Posted July 19, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 19, 2010 As of this moment, no... We do know that Carnival intends to have a presence in Europe in 2012 but the ship and itineraries are still not known... :)

kicia Posted July 19, 2010 #4 Share Posted July 19, 2010 The Carnival Breeze is coming out in the spring of 2012 so she probably will stay in Europe for the summer.
wildcatcruzer Posted July 19, 2010 #5 Share Posted July 19, 2010 Only brand new ships are in Europe for their debut, then they have a Translantic cruise to their home port. No new ship that year? No cruises in Europe.
JPEvans Posted July 19, 2010 #6 Share Posted July 19, 2010 Only brand new ships are in Europe for their debut, then they have a Translantic cruise to their home port. No new ship that year? No cruises in Europe. The Carnival Freedon went back to Europe in 2008. I don't think it's a case of only brand new ships. it might be easier to to have the ship that is already in Europe do the sailings, not only because it's new. golfadj Posted July 19, 2010 #7 Share Posted July 19, 2010 It appears that for now Carnival will only have new ships in Europe and will leave that market to their other brands.
Sargent_Schultz Posted July 20, 2010 #8 Share Posted July 20, 2010 European cruises are seasonal and Winter ain't the season. If there is money to be made, of course Carnival will reposition a ship over there. If lots of money, they might even put two. For 2012, I'd say Carnival Breeze would be the only choice. tdggal1980 Posted July 20, 2010 Author #9 Share Posted July 20, 2010 DH & I figured the Breeze would end up in Europe since it's scheduled to debut in Spring 2012. We are looking to book an European itinerary in Summer 2012 so maybe it will be on the new ship. I guess only time will tell! Thanks for the input everyone! :)
