Cecilia V. Posted July 19, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 19, 2010 We are planning to swim with the dolphins at Chankanaab. I have read that snorkelling equipment is available for rent. My 2 teen daughters have never snorkelled before; if we rent equipment, will they show them how to use it?
NorthCarolinaBelle Posted July 20, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 20, 2010 I don't know if anybody will be able to help or not. Look on their website and see if they have classes or anything. We just kind of taught ourselves. You might want to go ahead and buy inexpensive snorkles and masks so they can learn on their own in a pool at home...It is so worth the trouble to learn to snorkle. The views are breath-taking at Chankanaab!
OZSHAH Posted July 21, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 21, 2010 We were in Chankanab last summer. They rent snorkeling equipment and one of he guys at the shop, forgot his name ( he is about 4ft tall cant miss him), taught the newbees and they also have floats that u can use with your snorkeling equipment, as the water is very deep. The rent for mask and fins was 12 and another 5 for the float.

jackdiamond Posted July 22, 2010 #5 Share Posted July 22, 2010 You can probably buy masks and fins at Walmart for a very fair price. I am always cautions about renting these things due to the risk of infection.
