Cruise ship excursion vs private???

We will be in Belize in March via the NCL Sun. We would like to do the cave tubing excursion. We will be with a large group for our school district and many of the people are very hesitant about booking privately as they are concerned about missing the ship. I would prefer to book through

Wet-N-Wild but my son would like to be with his friends.

 

Is the cruise ship excusion similar other than price 96.00 vs 60.00?

If we took a private excursion would we still see the people from our ship?

 

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

You could book the cave tubing through shoretrips.com with their groups department. I do this all the time. $79 per person with transportation and private guides. They travel in a/c vans. The big reason I use them is they have liability insurance and also have insurance coverage to get your group to the next port should anything happen. I have never had a bad experience with my group bookings with them.

 

You could see people from the ship if they are traveling at the same time. But your group would have their own guides, go farther along the system then the ship people and end the day with a great lunch.
