Freedom Path from Fort Lauderdale to Key West

Recommended Posts

(I posted this on the Key West page and received 0 replies)

We are sailing on Freedom in October. Our first stop is Key West.

My husband and I really want to see all the bridges thru the Keys. Will it be possible to view them from the ship?

I guess I want to know if we will be close enough to see them and/or will we pass them in the middle of the night or after the sun begins to come up.

Thanks, KB

When we sailed the freedom in 2008, we went far enough out from Ft Lauderdale that we could not see land.... then when we woke in the next morning, we we already at Key West. So I am assuming that they do gentle circles all night, just far enough off shore that you have no idea where exactly you are, then presto, you dock in Key West. It's not that far from Ft Lauderdale to Key West, yet it takes 12 hours to get there by cruise ship. So far as seeing the bridges, we didn't see any of them.
