dreamweaver89 Posted July 27, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 27, 2010 First time cruisers on Carnival Triumph in mid-November for our annimversary, my husband and I would like to try snorkeling in either Nassau or Freeport. The Carnival shore excursions seem expensive and we are not into big groups of party people. I'm lost as to where to start looking. Can someone point me somewhere? In Nassau take a look at Stuart Cove's Dive Bahamas.Stuart and Michelle are great folks and run a first class operation. They offer a 3 location snorkel trip with the final site offering a unique opportunity to snorkel with the awesum Carribbean Reef Sharks. They also offer transportation to and from the port since their shop is on the other side of New Providence. Hi ,our family went to Nassau about 3 years ago and the kids just wanted to chill on the beach, so my husband and i left them(they were 18to24) and walked down the beach to a shallow cove. the fish were small but there were barracudas and i can't rememberwhat else. my husband ventured out around the cove, i wasn't as brave without a life jacket. he said it got pretty deep.there was nobody there and it didn't cost a dime. Oops almost forgot where, paradise beach.Atlantis was to our left because we walked around there after and the little cove was to our right. Grannycb Posted August 4, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 4, 2010 We took a shore excursion with our 7 yr old GD to Paradise Cove in Freeport. It was her first snorkeling adventure. (She's a very good swimmer.) She thought it was the 'Bestest day of her entire life!" Other family members were also very impressed. Here is the url: http://www.deadmansreef.com/activities.htm Snorkeling there is from the beach.
slabeaume Posted August 12, 2010 #5 Share Posted August 12, 2010 We stayed in one of the condos there at Paradise Cove near Freeport a few years ago and loved the place! They use to pick people up from the port and let them stay as long as they want. They ran back and forth about every 30 minutes (until about 5). The proprietors were great, as was the little bar b q area. There is a reef a short ways out from the beach with some pretty amazing stuff by it.
