Key West Crazy Boat - help...

Can anybody that has done this tell me how rough it actually is? My step-daughter has had surgery for scoleosis(sp) four years ago...has titanium rods in her back. She still does roller coasters and other things....anybody?

Hi Mr. Shanna, we are thinking about doing this and I emailed them. They do not reccomend pregnant women or people with any type of back problems going on the ride. Supposed to be pretty wild. I got the email address on the ports of call posts. cruisin'gal

We went on this last year and it IS a really wild ride. Great fun but not for those with back problems. My daughter had trouble with her contacts from the salt water. I suggest you wear sunglasses and keep your hood on. I have contacts and didn't have any trouble.

I don't know what the crazy boat is but we did the jungle tour when we were in Key West and we really enjoyed it. You drive your own mini boat so you can go as slow or fast (with exceptions) as you want. It is a 2 person boat so we each took one kid and it was fantastic...check it out here is the website

I think there is even a coupon...one catch ~ it's a cab ride from downtown so make sure you factor that into the "time" you choose.

Hi Mr. Shanna
I did the crazy boat last week, I expected a rough ride and found it to be very comfortable. You go very fast a few quick spins but not bumpy at all. I have a bad back and had absloutely no problems. My husband even videoed the trip. You do feel the force of the wind pulling the skin on your face back but go and enjoy.

We did not do that ride, but we did a similar 'Crazy Boat' ride in Nassau.

The swells were high that day so the ride mostly went BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! as it rose above the waves in the troughs and impacted the next swell with great force.

The hammering scared the hell out of my wife who was afraid the boat would come to pieces, but I really enjoyed it.

I wouldn't recommend taking the chance of sea conditions on anyone with back issues.

Geez, I wish I could remember...it wasn't any more than excursions with the cruise...I would guess and say about $30 p/p. I do remember that I didn't get a discount with the kids. Also, the website mentions snacks ~ don't go there hungry...lol

It was so neat to ride past all the canoers (is that a word??) in the motor boat....the mangroves were really great I had never seen such a thing. My husband had a blast jumping everyones wakes but I was too chicken. It is really nice because you go at your own pace. Anyway, that's my plug..lol
