The morning finally arrived for our long awaited 7/18 Miracle cruise............We were up at 3:00AM to catch the bus in Braintree, MA...........

 

After throwing the cat off the luggage

 

 

and grabbing "Mr Leo"

 

 

 

I suddenly remembered I had a minor fight with a piece of patio furniture the night before..........quick, check the mirror, all is good, just a small scratch on my forehead.....................

 

We arrive in Braintree by 6:35AM to catch our bus.........

After stops in Ct and RI we arrived in New York at 12:30, right on schedule.........As we were in line to board, my daughter looked at me and said "Mum, you have a black eye" What?????? no, my mascara must just be smudged.................

 

As soon as we got on board, I ran to the nearest bathroom, OK, she was right, a slight discoloration under my right eye.............I can live with that

 

sail-a-way was great, dinner was great, DODs were great........... We were on vacation, life was great until Monday morning..............

Lying in bed Monday morning, I am eagerly anticipating our first sea day, our CC meet & greet and our first formal night..............wait, somethings definitely wrong, my eye won't open........quick, run to the bathroom, OMG!!!!!!!!

I sent the hubby down to get my daughter, she's an RN...............nothing you can do, I just had to ride it out :(

Oh you poor thing what a rotten luck thing to happen just before cruising. I bet folks looked at your DH funny the whole cruise. One bright note, that shade of purple really suits your eye color and overall coloring. You need to hunt down some eye shadow that color

After a two hour "pity me" party in the stateroom, I decided to venture out with my "Foster Grants"

 

The day was fine, I went to the meet & greet with my sunglasses on, but it was formal night..........to go, or not to go????????

 

I went, but I couldn't bring myself to take any pictures of myself in a gown looking like that :D

 

Imade, our waiter came right up to me and said, don't worry, it won't be this rough tomorrow :D

Oh how funny! I had a black eye on my 1st cruise too...tripped and hit my head on the coffee table one week before, the swelling had gone down but I still had beautiful colors....had a ball and got addicted to cruising any way :D

This is going to be a good review!

I can relate. Long story short: Ended up having to wear $1 store horn rim glasses AND had a tooth missing in the front. I left home looking good. All you can do is smile and move on.

Seriously, all things considered I had a great cruise..............But I just can't shake the feeling that I need a do-over cruise, you know, like looking "pretty" on formal night etc............. Honey, what are we doing next summer???????????
