US to Europe through Toronto

Has anyone out there had experience flying from the US to Europe and back again through Toronto ?

I'd be interested in hearing about that experience in terms of going though both Canadian and US Immigration, checking and rechecking luggage, etc.

We will be doing exactly that this summer on Air Canada for our 7/23 Sea Princess Mediterrean trip.

Thanks

It's a bit of pain, since you have to transfer terminals, but I've heard they have a good system in place. It's more cumbersome when you come home, since you will actually be in 3 different terminals. When you leave, you will arrive at terminal 2, clear Canadian customs, take the bus to the infield terminal and catch your flight to Europe.

Coming home, you will land at the infield terminal, take the bus to terminal 1 to clear Canadian customs. Then you take another bus over to terminal 2, clear US customs, and catch your flight home. All this will change as the terminal 1 has more of it's gates built, but who knows when that will be.
