mamoune Posted August 3, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 3, 2010 Hello, I am about to book my next cruise on the Solstice, its the May 14 cruise to Europe. I was wondering whether to choose a cabin on the port or starboard side. My TA says the port side is better because the ship pulls into port on the port side. After reading some of the cc's posts, I am not so sure. I think I would get better weather and sun on the starboard side. I would wecome some advice ! CathyCruises Posted August 4, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 4, 2010 You need a new TA!!! Port side of the ship has NOTHING to do with 'ports of call'. They pull in any way they can and dock wherever they're told to--I have been on port cabins facing the port and port cabins facing the open water. Has your TA ever been on a cruise??? CathyCruises Posted August 4, 2010 #3 Share Posted August 4, 2010 And on top of that, many ports are very industrial and there's nothing to see anyway!!! Unless a bunch of cranes is interesting to you!
mamoune Posted August 4, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted August 4, 2010 Thanks for the info. So which cabin would you recommend then? Btw, yes my TA has been on a cruise, she was relaying information from her colleagues who had been on the same cruise last year... Very difficult to choose a cabin I find, some like the hump, some don't, some like the bed by the balcony, some like the bed by the bath... :( Help!!!
