Just wondering we are on a cruise from Southampton to Canary Islands in June 2011 what will the seas be like? Have sailed in the Caribbean and the Med before including crossing the Bay of Biscay a few times once it was gale force so fairly good sailor but never sailed in the Atlantic before and just wanted to know what to expect.

Wet i would imagine!!!!

On a serious note, it is really luck of the draw, on some days we have been through the bay & its been like a millpond & other days its been rough! There is no pattern to it i'm afaid & if i could predict accurately then id be rich enough to be typing this on a cruise ship as that would be where i would be living!!!:)

Who knows? As Dave says, we had a rocky ride once and a smooth ride another time to the Canaries....don't worry about it please. The most bumpy ride for us was sailing down the North sea on the way back from Norway.:)
