Suggestions for a few hours before excursion?

So the ship docks in St Thomas at 8:00am and I have an excursion leaving at 11:30. There will be no time after the excursion to do or see anything else. Any must see or do's close to the ship dock? Those who have done the sky ride, how long does it take to go up/down? Would there be enough time to do the sky ride without being rushed? Thanks a bunch!
