Sofitel Ia Orla, Moorea

I have just recieved an email from ACCOR hotels regarding the renovations at the Sofitel Ia Orla, Moorea. I thought that this may be interesting, as so many people have different opinions about this hotel. By the looks of things, the hotel will be looking very different by this time next year.

 

Here is the information that ACCOR sent me:

February to September 2005

 

The hotel is fully open for sales during this period.

 

The 20 existing overwater bungalows will be gradually renovated at the

rate of one per week and will remain open for sales.

 

 

From October 2005 onwards

 

Building of 19 overwater bungalows to come to make a total of 39 in

all.

 

 

From January 2006

 

The renovation program will continue throughout 2006 and includes :

 

Demolition and rebuilding of 60 beach and garden bungalows

Renovation of the reception and the lobby

Complete renovation and extension of the existing beach restaurant

Creation of a restaurant with Polynesian specialities

Extension of the swimming pool area and creation of an overflowing

pool

Creation of a large Spa area, a meeting room and a wedding parlour
