Another Fort Lauderdale question...

We will be departing from FLL in July and need a pre and post cruise hotel. It by no means needs to be 4 star, but would like a decent place to begin and end our trip. We have never been to this area and could use all the advice you can give. Areas that would be near "something to do" as we will not have a car would probably be best. There are many hotels along SE 17th Street (near Port Everglades), and along the beach, of varying price ranges. Both areas have restaurants/shopping within walking distance.

You could have a 4 star hotel at the Hyatt Pier 66 for around $95.00 for the night. The hotel has a water taxi stop that takes you all the places you would want to go. We used Priceline and got it for $95.00 precruise night. Also, has several pools, jacuzzi, many restaurants and revolving roof top lounge as well as taxis available in the morning. Just a thought you could check out.
