SJU 11:30 AM flight

Good morning, we are sailing on the Serenade of the Seas out of San Juan. Jet Blue has a flight leaving SJU airport at 11:30 AM. Do we have time to make this flight or should we take a later flight.

Not sure what time your ship gets into SJU but on my two previous RCL cruises out of SJU, an 11:30am flight would have been NO PROBLEM.

I was one of those that commented on the thread that mdrobtx said to check.

I do suggest that you make sure you are in one of the early groups off the ship. There will be some lines getting your luggage in the terminal and getting through customs, but the main problems are at SJU. I just did this

a month ago, and wrote of how close I was to not making my flight.

 

The main tip I can give is to have your taxi drop you as close to the

agriculture check as is possible at SJU. The one at the Delta terminal

had a very long line, and it took forever. And lots of people were not

aware that you had to go through that step first. They went into the lines in the terminal, waited in line, only to be told to go back out and do that first. Needless to say, some of them wanted to cut in line, which was not

a good thing for the many people already in line. It was chaos.

 

And there was only 1 security line to get to the gates. That took a lot of time too. None of these things, of course, are under your own control.

Better to at least be aware of the potential bottlenecks at the airport.

In April we were at our gate at 9AM waiting for a 10:45 flight to LAX.

Earlier this month I arrived at the SJU airport at 8:30. Was in one of the first groups off the ship (8 a.m.) and in a taxi 15 minutes later.

 

I would have hung out onboard, but I was hoping to catch an earlier flight.
