Just to let you know Sunset Jamaica Grande was completely remolded in 2005 ending in 2006. We vacationed there in 2006. Here is a site with pics:

Sandals is a adult only resort so that aspect can be fun. call 1888-sandals for more information.

We stayed at the Sandals Grande last year and cab fare for up to 4 people was around $25 round trip from the resort to the shopping center (which is right next to the pier). Not sure how much it would be the other way around (pier to resort), but I wouldn't think it would be much different.
