giginevelyn Posted August 19, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 19, 2010 We are considering a cruise during Christmas week (Eastern Med). Because we have younger children, I am wondering if any of you could comment on what these two lines do (if you have experience on both) to be festive for children. Any Christmas related activities, decorations, etc. Also both itineraries we are considering put us in Katakolon Greece on Christmas Day. Will things be open? Not too concerned as we have done this port once, although did not take our kids to Olympia the first time and may do it this time around. Thanks!! G.M.T. Posted August 19, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 19, 2010 From what I have heard, Costa decorate there ship for Christmas, including Christmas Tree. The Greek Orthodox Church celebrates their Christmas on 7th. January, they follow the Gregorian Calender as opposed to the Catholic church that follow the Julian Calender with Christmas on 25th. December. That being said, if you check for Greek National Holidays you will see that both 25th. & 26th December are public holidays. Ron
